We are pleased to announce that Maya Hood has joined the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (OVPUE) as the new Administrative Professional III. In this role, Maya will be charged with providing key administrative and operational support to both Academic Success and Advising (ASA) and the Office of Experiential and Engaged Learning (E2L).
Maya has six years of administrative experience having worked with public elected officials and nonprofit organizations where she specialized in communications strategies and coordination. Maya graduated from Fisk University with a bachelor's degree in English communications and is currently working to get her master's degree in communications with a concentration in public relations from Syracuse University's online college. She enjoys being a part of the well-oiled machine that is the administration office, and she uses her positive attitude and grit to encourage others to reach their fullest potential.
In her leisure time, Maya enjoys working on passion projects such as writing, DIY decorating, and hosting karaoke nights. She is a proud dog mom of the cutest Staffordshire bullterrier named Pluto. Maya is inspired daily by her nieces and nephews who strengthen her desire to provide younger generations with as many resources and tools for success, especially in higher education.
Please join us in welcoming Maya to OUE!
